The scene opens up in what appears to be an executive meeting room somewhere in the heart of New York at around midday, many people at around this time would be taking their lunch break to refuel for the rest of the day, however two men were very much at work. One man appeared to be in his mid 30s, very much used to the business world, and success. Custom suits, penthouses, mansions, fast cars, limousines, private jets, and women, he was very much used to the good life. He even had his hand in the wrestling world, first starting off as a competitor, and later on as the General Manager of ECF’s weekly show, Saturday Night Fusion. And across the table from him was none other than “The Revolutionary Turncoat” himself, Frank Washington. They both are seen looking over some papers at the table, as Frank looks over the papers, a look of amusement is seen on his face. Jobs takes a drink of his coffee as Frank continues to look the papers over.
Frank Washington: This is a pretty decent offer, hell of a lot more than ACW pitched to me, how did you manage to get PWA Management to even suggest this kind of offer?
Steve Jobs: How could PWA not offer this kind of deal after the impact you’ve made so far, taking it right to the so called “Badger”? Not even a full month yet into the company and you’ve already established yourself as a force to be reckoned with. They would have to be foolish to not want secure someone like yourself for the long haul. Your stock is going to continue to rise, and it appears they want in for the ride.
Frank Washington: It’s a shame though that I have to face JT Phoenix at the Supercard though, it wont even be a challenge, can’t say I’m really surprised though. Figured Robert Garland wouldn’t want to face me Chicago Style, not after I kicked his ass anyways, I guess those beatings just got to him. You see, Garland talks a big game, touting himself as “True Hardcore” yet in reality he’s just softcore, he’s just a mere shell of what he once was. He should just change his moniker to “PWA’s Punching Bag”, that’s all he really is anymore. Regardless though, I’m not done with Garland, not after that Cradle DDT, if I were Garland, I’d be watching my back. In the meanwhile I guess that means I get to make an example out of JT Phoenix.
Steve Jobs: Garland isn’t important at the moment however. The matter at hand is the contract. I say is a great deal, worth signing in my honest opinion, that’s probably the best offer you’re going to get from a new company.
Frank scans over the contract again briefly before replying.
Frank Washington: No deal.
Jobs appears to have a look of bewilderment and disbelief on his face upon hearing his client’s response.
Steve Jobs: What do you mean no deal?! Have you lost it Frank, look at that contract, the money is there, lighter travel schedule, better than what ACW would probably offer. I worked my ass off to secure such a deal and you’re going to just throw it away? I would take the deal and run with it to the bank if I were you!
Frank Washington: It’s not all about the money Steve. I have to admit, PWA drives a hard bargain, it’s obvious that they wish to secure me to a written deal…and soon. However this contract is missing just one thing, a guaranteed shot at Robert Garland, one on one.
Steve Jobs: Why Garland, surely there are other people on the roster worth facing , maybe the World Champion Chris Williams, TV Champion Roc Anderson, or even Michael Smart. The roster is loaded with talent, so why Garland in particular?
Frank Washington: It’s simple really, I want to make an example out of him.
Steve Jobs: An example?
Frank nods, and takes a drink of coffee, which appears to already be halfway gone before proceeding.
Frank Washington: An example, why not? Garland is everything that is wrong with this business. He’s a washed up, overglorified stuntman, who does his damnedest to get a bunch of assclowns to cheer his name. Instead of furthering his own career, he chooses to take a backseat by holding himself back and fight for “the right thing”. The only “right thing” in this business is getting to the top at any cost, so far Garland hasn’t done much of this, and if anything he’s fallen back a step. It’s people like him that are begging to be made into examples, and I intend to do so.
If you can secure me a match with Robert Garland, one on one, then I’ll sign the written contract .
Steve Jobs: I don’t think that would be too difficult, myself and my associates will work with the PWA management and see if we can strike a deal.
Frank Washington: I have confidence in your abilities Steve, I look forward to seeing a satisfying written deal soon.. Now if you’ll excuse me, I suppose I should catch a flight to Chicago.
And with that Frank gets out of his seat, and heads to the door to exit, as the camera fades to black.
