The scene opens abruptly, the inside of room 313 of the Penn Medicine building. Robert Garland is center of the screen, a doctor overlooking him and flipping through papers as he lies in his hospital bed. The doctor takes a moment before speaking, Garland petting his pet badger, Red, before turning his attention to the doctor.
Doctor - Alright Mr. Garland, it seems like you're alright to go, we'll have you checked out of here in about two days... Taking some time to keep watch on you to make sure everything's alright.
Robert Garland - Alright, sounds all good. Just glad there's no big problems you know!
Doctor - One thing though *Flipping through Garland's records*... I was checking your medical records and it seems you've been checked into a few places here in there in your recent history for these same problems... Have you been taking care of yourself?
Robert Garland - Yeah, you know... I was all, well, in my career...
Doctor - I guess it's unavoidable right? Well, make sure you keep on your painkillers and... Oh yeah, someone was trying to call while we were examining you. They recommended that you call them back as soon as possible.
By the way, we already told them the news so, that should make things easier for you.
As the doctor goes to leave, Garland sighs loudly and looks at the desk next to him, Red stirring a bit as Garland's moves over and picks it up. Garland checks his recent calls and notices that that call the doctor was talking about was from the PWA. He sighs once again and clicks to return, pulling the phone to his ear and holding his head in slight pain.
Rep: Hello?
Robert Garland - Yeah, hey man, it's me, Garland.
Rep: Right, right, I already got the news and booked you for the next show. I hope you're ready because we've got you and Roc Anderson booked against each other, Television Title on the line!
You think you're going to be ready to go?
Robert Garland - *Pausing before responding, once again checking his head.* Yeah, yeah, I'll be fine... You know me don't you!? I'm "True Hardcore" remember?
And I'll let you know right here that I'll bring the ratings when I capture the gold and stand tall as PWA's Television Champion! After all, with all the chaos recently, someone's gotta lead by example!
Rep: Right, well, feel better and be ready!
With that, Garland hears a click on the other line. He places the phone back on the desk before realizing that there's something else near his hand. Questioningly he reaches out and pulls it towards him, analyzing it while placing it close to his face, noticing it's a book with a tag on it...[/i]
["~For my Friend~"]
On the cover of the book is written, in big Brown Letters,"Melody Medly"
Garland goes to flip through it, noticing quickly that all the pages are blank and on the back cover is a pen... He checks the door and watches Red for a moment, Red now sleeping and no one else in the room. With that, Garland seems to take the hint, holding his head once more before writing on the first page...[/i][/color]
Robert Garland - Why not, it'd be a nice way to pass the time...
Well then...
Garland begins to write, almost as if he is in a trance... He goes from writing about his day to finding the book, writing on and on and on... It all seems normal... But there was one strange part in the middle of all that writing... A strange part indeed, written as if it was a group effort... [/i]
Feeling my soul washing away in the dark river of my heart... You don't know, but we share one body... A body that I am beyond tired of having battered and bruised!
Mother, mother... Did you finish making breakfast?! No... Well, can I help!?
I'm tired of this you hear me, it's time for action... Although the only thoughts playing through my mind are that of George Washington cutting down a cherry tree before he meets me, holding an axe, and cutting him to pieces... Frankly, I think there's a hidden message in here somewhere, some sort of inner desire.
Disturbing? How about when I cross the idea of heading down to the river side? Skipping a Roc over the water before washing it drown, falling under the water... A metaphor?
Kneed, Pull, Cradle the bread! Kneed, Pull, Cradle the bread... How am I doing mommy?!
How am I doing? Well, i keep caring the wrong things and it's killing me on the outside and inside! TORMENTED HUH?! YEAH! I KNOW WHAT YOU FEEL, THIS HIDDEN HATRED! WHY DON'T YOU SHOW YOUR TRUE COLORS?!
I love you mommy! [/b]
ILoveYouMommy![/b]
With that, the scene ends, Garland left there in his hospital bed before closing his book abruptly and laying back in the hospital bed... His eyes wide open in the now night as he tries to go to sleep...[/i]
Show your claws... I'm on your side now Garland... Well, Maybe!
HHAHAHAHAHAHHAH!
